Tips In Staging Successful Food Fundraisers

By Cathy Mercer

You must know that the success of food fundraisers is in the people organizing the event. That is because the people are the ones who take actions, make solicitation letters and follow them up, find donors and sponsors. There are many things that members of the campaign are doing.

That is why it is important for an organization to pick its members carefully. Their background should be checked. They should be of good standing in the community. They should not have any criminal records whatsoever. They should have been involved in several other organizations in the community and their performance in said organization should also be checked or considered.

The applicant member should submit his credentials. There should be any problem submitting credentials. Likewise, the organization asking for the submission of said credentials shall treat the professional documents of the application with utmost confidentiality.

There are times when they lack funds and do not know where to get the funding. What the members of the organization do is that they think of ways that could help bring in some money for the organization. They brainstorm ideas. That is what is good about having good people around.

It is because of the people that the organization is a success or a failure. Whatever its people are doing, it reflects the organization. This means that if you have good people working for the organization, whatever the goals and objectives of the organization it can be achieved.

There is plenty of information that you can obtain from the internet. There are articles that you can read and videos that you can watch. These videos are recordings of actual events. You can get some inspiration from the materials that you read or found on the internet. It is not really about copying their ideas.

Some the things that should be checked in a person who wants to be a member or is applying for membership are his background, professional affiliations, other responsibilities he has held before whether in a corporate office or government office, etc. It is necessary to do background checking. You want people involved in the organization to be of good moral background, are qualified and reputable in their own rights. Being a member of an organization with a cause is a lot of responsibility.

Get all the help that you can. Inform your friends and family, colleagues in the business and in the office. They can all help spread the word that you are organizing a certain event. Let them know what the purpose of the event is so that when somebody asks them what the event is for they will know how to answer that.

People are more participative when they know where their efforts, time and money are going for the event. Plus, it is also their rights to know where and their money will be used for in case they decide to donate or contribute for the event. Advertise the event. Use the internet. The internet and word of mouth are some of the recipes of successful food fundraisers.
