A farm shop is exactly what it sounds like a shop that sells farm produce. Genuine farm shops sell mostly products that are produced by the farm they are attached to.

Farm shops are becoming more popular. More of the public are desperate to get their hands on very good healthy food. They are taking responsibility for their health and searching for ways to boost their health. They are tired of eating food, which is packed with chemicals, additives, and comes with too much sugar and salt in it. People are realising that you are what you eat. They are starting to suspect that eating mass produced food is resulting in serious health problems like cancer.

Farm shops do not sell mass produced products meaning that you are not likely to buy food that is full of chemicals from them. Many farm shops specialise in selling organic produce. The meat that they sell is often free range, meaning that the animals are reared in good living conditions. Not only is the animal far happier the meat they produce tastes better too.

The range of products offered by farm shops varies widely. Some only stock a few lines, but most of them extend that range by selling produce from nearby farms and home businesses as well as their own. They try to ensure that all of the food they sell is nutritious as well as safe. Some farm shops do not sell meat, but those that do usually sell a good range of cooked meat products. For example if they rear pigs that farm shop will sell pork, cooked ham, sausages and also other pork products.

Because farm shops are quite small they offer you a great level of service. The staff usually work there for many years meaning that they know their clients. This enables them to provide a more personal service.

Knowing where your food is from will give you complete peace of mind. In addition, you will probably be helping the environment by shopping in local stores.

At www.cowranestate.com, we sell top quality free-range turkeys and geese. These lines are so popular in our farmshops, which is why we now deliver them UK wide. We already supply several of the UK’s top restaurants.
