Business card holders are meant to be functional items. They are intended to hold and display cards so they can be easily viewed and taken by interested parties. But just because these are functional items doesn’t mean that they can’t also be attractive and decorative.

Some models are quite basic in their designs. Most feature a vertical plane that is tilted to display the cards and also has a lip that will hold them in place. The designs cane be very simple and are recognized around the world.

There are some types that have a more complicated design. They can range from a simply, yet elegant design to something more elaborate that matches a specific type of decor or interior design theme. There are some that have a specific theme such as a golf ball themed holder for a sports enthusiast or an apple with a worm coming out of it for a teacher’s cards.

They can be made out of a lot of different materials. Many are made out of molded plastic and are widely available at stores that sell office supplies. Some are handcrafted out of wood, stone or another type of material.

A holder might be put on a desk so cards are available for clients to take during meetings. It might also be found in a retail place who wants to help promote another company that offers a service that might be of interest to their clients. For example, there might be a limousine company’s cards at a hotel so that the guests will have access to the information if they need transportation.

Business card holders come in a variety of styles and sometimes follow a theme. Though they are designed to be a functional item, they can also be used a decorative item too. They may be found on a person’s desk or may be used as a promotional tool.
