Avid gaming fans who may have heard of ‘Project Natal’ have probably heard it was recently re-christened to now be called Xbox Kinect. This new gaming gadget from Microsoft will revolutionize the way we play video games. This console will use a revolutionary 3D camera and gesture recognition software which will transport gamers into an innovative gaming globe, by mimicking their physical actions within the real world, that will then transport right to the game. Now, gaming will require not only your fingers and eyes, but your whole body’s movement and groove. Microsoft created this official annoucement at the Kinect’s Debut in E3 Los Angeles.
Microsoft won’t say much else about the gadget, which is believed to be a smart marketing move to ensure that fans from the Xbox 360 and other consoles will probably be left wanting more. What they did tell the public was how the Xbox Kinect is purely a gadget that will simply plug into an Xbox. This is good news for individuals people who are currently quite happy with the quantity of games that they have for the old Xbox, and don’t really want to buy a whole new console just to be able to try out this new one.
Although a specific cost was not provided, analysts estimate how the Xbox Kinect will probably be released within the cost range of close to 50$-200$. Executives from gaming companies have also shared that an approximate quantity of 15 titles will probably be obtainable upon the release from the game come this November.
If you’re thinking how the Kinect is going to be just one more Wii, then you’re dead wrong. The video game industry is really excited about the launch from the Kinect – with various game manufacturers currently having various games in the works.
No further details were released, simply because it seems like everybody is determined to keep it hush-hush. If you’re itching to discover out more, you’re just going to have to wait until November 2010.
