If you will use wireless sensors with cameras then you will be able to detect the motions and sound. The sensors of this camera will alert the homeowner in case the door opens, there is a leak, the temperature fluctuates or when someone is coming towards the front door. After the images are captured they can be send to a computer, PDA or cell phone using a broadband connection.

If you will use an infrared camera then you will be able to detect activities even in the dark. It has light emitting diodes (LEDs) surrounding the camera lens that gets turned on as soon as it gets dark outside. During day time or say when the area is well lit, you will get colored pictures from your camera.

With dark surroundings, LEDs is turned on to provide you infrared lighting. Then you will have black and white images. The clearness of images depends on certain factors like lens size, its quality and number of infrared LEDs.
