Having outdoor wall fountains makes a garden more authentic in that it makes the garden closer to the look of a forest or mountain. Water being one of the major elements of nature makes the garden a real part of nature.
Japanese Theme The beauty of using a Japanese-themed garden is the way that I maximize all elements of nature to create an authentic experience of being in a forest or mountain. A water garden would be closest to achieving a Japanese feel. This would mean that almost the entire floor of your garden would be water. You will need to construct cabanas or little nooks that are hanging or suspended in order to create different areas where you can stay when you are in your garden.
Victorian Theme The Victorian-themed garden is considered by some as the most romantic of all. Make sure your grass is a well maintained Bermuda. Your plants need to be balanced and it must have a pattern. It cannot appear random. The cabanas that you will use must be painted white and the tables around must be perfectly set. I am sure you have seen those landscaped maze-like garden. That is what you are going for.
Outdoor Living Room Why settle for benches and wooden tables, develop an outdoor living room complete with throw pillows and bean bags. Put a television out there so you can simulate the experience of watching a drive through movie. You can put your board games there and encourage everyone to spend some time outdoors while playing those games.
Futuristic Theme This is the most uncommon one because it is also the most expensive and the most difficult to maintain. A futuristic garden is very minimalist and uses a lot of structures made up of glass and steel. For example surround a cabana made up of steel with small and thin trees around it.
There are so many other options for your garden out there. Make sure you that you scout all your options and also look through different garden magazines for inspiration.
