This type of roof can be a bit challenging to construct, but it requires less support and bracing than some other roof designs. As compared to gable and other roof structures, these roofs demand for some complex trusses for its construction.

Since, hip roofs are bit difficult, an untrained man may cause heavy damages to the roof and the house in turn. Otherwise also the cost of constructing such roof structures is high as compared to the gable roofs.
