Want to add some more elegance to your place? Don’t worry you can do this with little added cost. The most contemporary way is to give your building beautiful bonnet roof top. By passers as well as your guests will surely be impressed. And thus, undoubtedly is a vital part of your home.

Each roof side of the roof has two slopes named as upper and lower slopes. Hipped roofs are generally transformed into bonnet roofs. With this roofing style, gables are not present.

Since each side of the roof consists of two slopes, the upper slope in much steeper than the lower one. The bottom slope is often used to cover an open-sided porch that surrounds the building and is useful in shielding the house from bad weather or heat. The bottom part of the roof resembles an eave and thus, is referred to as kicked eave roof.

Bonnet roofs have the advantage of being excellent in environments subject to high winds. They are good where tornadoes and hurricanes are yearly threats. The roof provides minimal wind resistance, and the solid design helps it hold on to the walls if constructed with higher pitch.

This roof design addresses one of the most common problems with the hip roof, which is lack of clearance under the roof. Moreover, it provides a very less space under the roof, thus, making the rooms look smaller.

This roofing style is not all new and is beautifying the homes since centuries. However, these are mainly constructed for French vernacular architectures.

This type of roof can be a bit challenging to construct, but it requires less support and bracing than some other roof designs. As compared to gable and other roof structures, these roofs demand for some complex trusses for its construction.

All you need is well qualified and experienced roofers so as to construct the roof adequately. Since, hip roofs are bit difficult, an untrained man may cause heavy damages to the roof and the house in turn. Otherwise also the cost of constructing such roof structures is high as compared to the gable roofs.

Scott Rodgers is a great author when it comes to extensive roofing works. His stupendous knowledge has been fueling business for a host of workers, ranging from Saint James Roofers to Mc Calla Roofers .
