Looking for the right roofing material for your home is quite a frustrating task. But yet, it is very important that your roof possess greater strength and durability. Rubber roofing seems to be the best roofing material to cover your roof. These are suitable for both the flat and the sloping roofs.

The unpalatable truth is that like everything else roofs do not last forever but tend to wear and tear with time. But unlike the other roofing materials, rubber roofs are not much affected by the severe weather. Homeowners having roofs made up of any other roofing material generally complaint about roof leaks and cracks due to extensive rainfall and the harsh sunlight respectively. But, rubber roofs are free from such downsides.

While the roofing materials are made from the recycled products, these are completely environmentally safe. Being environmental- friendly, these doesn’t contaminate the soil as other roofing material does when the rain water runs off it. For this, rubber roofing is highly preferred among the homeowners.

As rubber roofs adjust to all weather types so in summers it will not allow the heat to seep into the home while in winters it just keeps the heat trapped inside the home. Beside this, rubber roofs prevent the harsh rays of the sun to come in contact with the roof surface. This makes them extremely durable and rigid.

Ethylene Propylene Diene M- class shortly known as the EPDM is the basic building block of the rubber roofs. It is used as a roofing membrane, as well as a complete roofing system.

In general, there are two types of rubber roofing systems. The first one is the whole roof that uses a single, seamless piece of rubber that covers and seals in the roof’s surface. Other one is the shingled roofs that consists of rubber shingles and are laid in the same way as other shingles are installed.

If your roof is made up of any other roofing material, a timely and proper maintenance is needed. But, with the installation of the rubber roofs, homeowners don’t have to bother about the regular maintenance of the roof. Since these are highly durable, you don’t have to repair them after every 5 to 10 years.

Rubber roofs are easy to self install. This implies that even an untrained man with no specific degree or certificate can accomplish the task. So, there is no need to rush to the roofer for this.
