A Guide For Female On Vaginal Thrush

A very common infection triggered by an abnormal over production of Candida Albicans yeast in the body is known as vaginal thrush. These yeasts are naturally flourishing in the intestines and a few in the vagina. Most of the time, they are harmless but could also be cause a lot of symptoms if they increase in number. It is said that around 75 percent of women in who obtained vaginal thrush will have it lifetime.

Signs and symptoms can involve vaginal discomfort, production of white discharge, stinging or burning sensation when urinating, redness or swelling of the vagina, and splits in the genital skin. This may also be present in other body areas like the mouth. It is rooted by an overgrowth of the yeast Candida Albicans due to antibiotic use, oral contraceptive use, diabetes, pregnancy, menstrual cycle changes, systemic and immune disorders, and other vulval skin conditions.

The medication to solve this problem is focused at decreasing the amount of yeast for them not to further the symptoms. Options that are available in your local drug stores even without prescription are antifungal creams or vaginal tablets and oral medicines. Creams for fungal infections and vaginal tablets are applied into the vagina with the use of a particular applicator and used from a day to six days or more. The oral tablets or fluconazoles are a more costly treatment but effective which is not indicated for pregnant women or as a first-line of treatment. You may not warrant any medication when the signs and symptoms faded away in just a few days.

Here some useful hints you must remember to help prevent vaginal thrush. Right after urinating or defecating, wipe off your bottom from front to back to avoid the proliferation of the yeast. Avoid using soap to wash the genital area, instead, use glycerine-containing substitutes. Avoid using antiseptics, douches, or any perfumed sprays in these delicate areas, as well as perfumed toilet papers and menstrual products. It is recommended not to patronize and wear tight-fitting pants and under pants. You might also want to vary your detergent for washing clothes and do not use fabric softeners.

It is not prohibited to have sex when having a vaginal thrush. However, you may experience discomfort and burning sensation during the act, so it is advised for you use a lot of lubricant. Vaginal thrush cannot be transferred from having sex but your partner can experience redness and irritation after. Use the cure solutions after having sex when using condoms as these could weaken them.

In cases when you feel repeated episodes of vaginal thrush, it is advised that you consult your physician to confirm if it is really a thrush and rule out the occurrence of a sexually transmissible infection. Your physician can check the presence of other skin diseases that have similar symptoms. Factors that will generally contribute in the overgrowth of Candida Albicans should be recognized and immediately treated. If nothing is identified, a preventive course of treatment is begun.

There is no proof to support treat male partners of women who have vaginal thrush. There is also no clear evidence that dietary modification can prevent thrush.
