Why Nasal Allergies Are Thought To Be A Major Social Buzz Kill

By Anne Sims

Looking for some fun? Whatever you do, Don't Click Here!

All kinds of allergies are dangerous and serious. There are those who are allergic to certain drugs and food. But the most anti-social type is probably the one that is activated by certain allergens you inhale.

There are people whose asthma attacks are activated by allergens that are breathed in. Common inhaled allergens may include mold, pollen, insect particles, and dust mites.

All allergies, whatever kind they are, are every bit as dangerous. Let’s be clear on that. But nasal allergies are, hands down, the worst social life killer. You can avoid getting allergic reactions to food and drug by simply not taking or consuming them. But most of the time, you don’t get to have a say on what the air around you carries so you cannot avoid having nasal allergies.

What if a special someone asks you for an outing but you know you won’t be able to enjoy the lovely surrounding because you will for sure wind up sneezing endlessly after inhaling the nearby flowers’ pollens?

It’s the same regrettable result when friends ask you to go on a road trip in a convertible with them. You know you won’t be able to enjoy it because even a speck of inhaled dust could set off a brutal reaction. There are even those who can’t give and receive flowers because that would give them a bout of watery eyes and runny nose. Pets are also a no-no at home because they can also activate your allergy.

And that’s how nasal allergies destroy your social life.

Those are just “mild” symptoms a person with nasal allergy can experience. Instead of taking pleasure in a romantic picnic afternoon or a wild road trip with friends, you get to miss the fun in fear that you would only spoil the fun for everyone.

You can take antihistamines to fight allergic reactions, but be taking extra care though. Some, if not most, can make you drowsy. While they have their downside, antihistamines are still your quickest and soundest bet in reversing the effects of your allergy. The only thing that can cure your nasal allergy completely is to avoid getting them in the first place.

Just to be safe, arm yourself with antihistamines always. Pick Out the non-drowsy brand if you can find any. You never know when your allergy will start so it won’t hurt to be prepared. Also, see a doctor. He may still know something else that can help you rid of your allergy.
