What You Can Do About Your Persistent Cough

By Greg Bader

Looking for some fun? Whatever you do, Don't Click Here!

Coughing is not only alarming, it is also irritating. Don’t think for a second that you can get away unnoticed with your persistent cough. You will surely alarm people around you. Because no one wants to be around a sick person, you would surely drive away those around you with your persistent coughing.

People will surely stay away from you. Even if you just have a simple cough, they won’t know that for certain. Whatever you cough can spread into the air. They don’t want to take their risk and inhale the virus that comes out from your mouth.

If people start averting their faces from you, don’t take insult. It’s not personal. You can’t do anything about how people respond to your cough, but you can do something about your bothersome problem.

That lingering cough that you have for days already may not lessen with over-the-counter medicines anymore. When that happens, it’s time to visit a doctor. Getting a medical appointment does not automatically mean that you have a worse ailment than just plain cough, but a doctor can help you figure out how to stop your problem from getting worse.

Go see a doctor who focuses on Ear-Nose-Throat illnesses to help you determine the root cause of your cough. He or she will prescribe medication depending on whether your cough is dry or wet or if it associated with the mucus from your sinus or lungs.

Back at home, it never hurts to try organic remedies, such as honey and lemon. They are not only cheap, they are also filled with vitamins. It may not be just your cough you are healing, so try them yourself.

While trying on the said suggestions, work on your hygiene. Coughing scares people, so let’s try not to terrify them too much. But since coughing is involuntary, cover your mouth with a fresh hanky to suppress the sound and prevent the germs from spreading.

It is also an appreciated effort if you wash your hands as frequently as possible and apply antibacterial gels on your hands. Doing so proves your consideration for others. Lozenge candies can help calm down tickly throats.

Don’t take insult when people turn away from you when you have cough. Remember that it’s nothing personal.
