Bad sleep habits and how it can effect your health

Everyone knows that if you lose a night of sleep you are extraordinarily tired the day after, but if it becomes a habit and you have developed bad sleep habits that don’t seem to resolve themselves, it’s also got health consequences you will not have thought of. It can make you grumpy and bad tempered, but what else does it do to you? These are some surprising health consequences you may want to think about before starting making a lack of sleep a regular habit and the importance of going to sleep at night.
Ages your skin “Wow, first the sun, now a lack of sleep ages your skin. That is not good. Pudgy eyes and dark circles are common manifestations of a lack of sleep, but if it continues, your skin can become sallow and dead and those darkened circles will become deeper and harder to get shot of. Absence of sleep causes excess amounts of cortisol that wears down the collagen of the skin that keeps it looking smoother and softer.
Weight gain “It appears that when you're beat from a dearth of sleep, you've an increased appetite and sadly, it augments the cravings we have for foods higher in fat and carbs, so augmenting our possibilities of weight gain.
Lowers your interest in sex “Research has shown that individuals that are overtired have lower libidos with less interest in sex due to their lack of energy and increased tension due to a lack of sleep.
Decreases your cognitive abilities “The lack of sleep decreases your ability to concentrate and problem unravel as you are less alert and lack the ability to concentrate or reason. Also your memories aren't processed during the night if you don't get sufficient sleep so you forget what you had learned throughout the day.
Medical risks “The majority of people with a sleep disorder like insomnia also have an inclination to have hypertension, be at risk for heart attacks or other heart ailments and are more susceptible to diabetes.
