The cycle of waste never ends. As our society progresses and our technology develop at the speed of life, so are the toxins that harm our body. Free radicals toxins endanger our health everyday.

Healthy living has become an expression for many people. It seems everyone is on the health consciousness fad. All of us suddenly wants to join the bandwagon of healthiness. We hear a lot of people say they want to eat less junk and more healthy food. The best way to live is through a healthy and balanced diet. It’s pretty simple actually with the help of the food pyramid. Always remember what the grade school teachers taught is – grow, glow and go foods.

But there are more complex categories other than the three major food groups. On top of the diet food list are fat burning foods. Examples of these foods are citrus fruits, oats and lentils. These fat burners are low in calories, high in protein and rich in dietary fiber. Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C which is a natural chemical used by the body to metabolize fat. Oats on the other hand do not contribute to the calories in the body. But the main thing about oats is that they are based on insoluble fiber which can reduce the fat profile of the body. Lentils on the other hand are good against bad cholesterol because they are rich in dietary fiber.

Aside from fat burning foods, antioxidant rich foods are also important. They serve as free radical eliminators. Important antioxidants are vitamins C and E, lipoic acid, glutathione, carotene ubiquinol, and polyphenols. ORAC values are used to measure the antioxidant characteristics of certain foods. And more than dieting, we need to detoxify our bodies. Detoxification allows the body to expel harmful toxins and eliminate metabolic wastes. These substances can harm the liver, pancreas and the rest of the endocrine system.

Eating healthy food doesn’t ensure our health. We need to cut down on what makes us unhealthy. Say for example fast foods and junk foods. Preservatives do not preserve our health. Lots of free radicals and toxins come from preservatives.

Cholesterol is another harmful substance that we should keep away from. Bad cholesterol and saturated fat can harm the body in the long run. The master cleanse diet is perfect for detoxifying and healthy living. Its what we call a juice fast. In this program, the juicing fresh fruits is the key to effective detox.

Healthy living is the best fad right now. You should join the band wagon and start enjoying the best of what life has to offer. Go to this page for more info on master cleanse and juicing
