Can Decent Hair Care Reduce Men’s Hair Loss?

By Betty Grady

Can decent hair care prevent men’s hair loss from taking off? The brief answer is: not typically. The longer answer is: most hair loss is caused by conditions that are not related to hair care or scalp care. Proper care of the hair and scalp, however, certainly cannot hurt a man’s efforts in slowing down the rate at which he loses his hair. In some situations, appropriate hair care can do magic and make you feel like you are making efforts in fighting again the loss of hair or thinning. This article will talk about some of the ways you can properly care for your hair.

If you make the choice to blow dry your hair (which should be done rarely), guard your hair with a thermal styling spray. These styling sprays can keep your hair safe from harm done by the heat. Heat damage to the hair can result in tangling and other damage that will work its way up to the scalp. When sprayed on the head, some thermal styling sprays can help safeguard the scalp from the heat that is emitted from a blow dryer. Blow drying your hair is a great way to speed up the styling process but it is one of the worst things you can do if you are trying to prevent men’s hair loss.

If you have very fine hair, you should spray some gentle detangler onto your hair before you comb it after a shower. Pulling with too much force on tangles can cause you to unintentionally rip your hair right out of your scalp. This is totally contradictory of what you should do if you are already concerned about your hair loss. The detangler makes it simple for you to un-knot the tangles in your hair after showering and provides protection from unexpected afflictions that could happen to your hair while it’s in the drying stage.

When you comb your hair out after showering, veer away from using a brush. Don’t ever use a brush on wet hair. Instead, use a wide toothed comb. This will help you avoid unintentional yanking on your hair, which can bother your scalp. The wide toothed comb compels you to work through tangles and snarls that occur. A brush tends to just yank on them until the hair is ripped out of your head completely. This is useless. Using the wide toothed comb ensures that you will be taking a gentle approach to combing your hair after you have cleaned it.

Appropriate hair care might entirely stop men’s hair loss from happening. However, it can lessen the rate. Decent care of your hair and scalp and do magic for keeping your whole head healthy. There are a variety of ways you can guarantee strong hair and scalp. Some of it is based on the type of hair you possess. For the most part, however, following some simple rules and using some simple tools will go a long way.
