Does weight loss with hypnosis actually work? This is the question I am asked continuously again. The simple answer’s yes, yes it can, are you ready to fight it and beat it, again the answer’s yes. I am a hypnotherapist, not a wizard, yet hypnotherapy does look like magic sometimes even to me, who has trained and is qualifed, still on occasions am staggered with the power of hypnosis, yet it's not wizardry, unbelieveable infrequently.
The power of hypnosis, is just the language we use and by asking the logical part of the mind to take five for a while, while we talk to the unconscious mind for a short while and fill that part of the mind that doesn't research with positive recommendation. It actually is as easy as that.
So yes, hypnosis does work to shed pounds. What we need to discover is how to shed the pounds without deiting.
First we wish to dispose of the word “Lose”
Yes, it is merely a word, however it is a very strong word.
This single word, in my opinion is the BIGGEST problem. We give words, thoughts and feelings and therefore we give them POWER!
It is natural when we lose things, that we search for them until we find them, well the same is true with weight. Thus the Yo-Yo diet. We shed the pounds, get to our target weight, the mind relaxes, ah we received there, then it is going into grief and loss “oh no I have lost something, I must search until I find it” And gues what, so regularly you not only find the 10 kilos you lost, you might be fortunate and find 12 or 15 and the self-perpetuating cycle begins again.
Basically the key is:- you do not wish to tell your mind you have lost anything. You simply just choose a weight that is right and healthy for you.
