The Most Effective Abdominal Workout

By Alicia Lee

As beach time approaches, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to play in the water without having to wear a shirt because of belly fat? You can have great abs by the start of the summer and look hotter than ever before.

Before we talk about workout plans, we need to look at the science behind developing great abs. Sit ups and crunches are great ways to build abdominal muscles, but that is only part of the process. Developing solid abs does not burn a lot of excess belly fat, which is what hides great abs.

Burning fat is more important than developing the abs, and we need to do some math to start shrinking the belly. You have to burn 3500 calories in order to loose one pound of fat. That means between diet and exercise, we have to burn more calories than we take in every day.

In order to jump start fat metabolism, weight lifting is the most effective way to get started. The more muscle grows, the more fat it feeds on. Lifting weights is the greatest way to get the most out of the body’s fat burning machine.

There are a variety of exercises to do that will keep that fat melting away, and ultimately revealing sexy abs. Pick workouts that will exercise different muscle groups of the body, and you will burn belly fat and tone your overall body.

Some of these exercises include dead lifts, dumb bell snatches, military presses and more. These workouts work the abs in addition to other areas, because you use your abdominal muscles to support yourself during these workouts. So weight lifting has great overall benefits.

Great routines are curls, dead lifts, bench presses, squats, deep knee bends and military presses. These moves will get all the muscles growing, and melt off body fat like butter. In no time, those abs will start showing up and you whole body will be nice and tight and fat free.
