Get The Skinny On Diet Plans

By Katie Walsh

If you have struggled with weight loss your whole life and have searched for quick weight loss plans for years, you are not unlike me. I’ve tried all of the plans out there. Whether it was the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, or any other “easy” diet plan, I’ve done all the research. I know a little bit about the topic as a result. The experts would call what I have a weight problem. I’ve lost weight, only to regain it. Then I’ll lose it again, then regain. Rinse and repeat.

And who doesn’t love food? I know I do. And I hate looking at myself right before the holidays and realizing that the only way to get down to the size I need to be is to starve myself with some new weight loss plan. So, needless to say, I have some personal experience with a lot of the so-called “expert” easy diet plans out there on the market.

I really hated when I was looking for a diet that “fit” me that I found all these over-hyped claims and crazy before and after photos of people that used XYZ product and after adopting their fat burning diets, they lost 30 lbs in 30 days!! Let’s be real! I didn’t put much stuck into a claim like “Lose 30 pounds in 30 days” when it took me near 45 days to lose a mere 10 pounds! The most common problem I encountered with the many products and plans attempted is that, while they do indeed work, they are not geared for a long period of usage. The ideal solution for me would not only help me lose weight, but it would help me keep it off. And not only that, but it would allow me to eat foods that I enjoyed and found filling enough so that I wouldn’t be craving snacks throughout the day.

The number of diet websites, programs, and DVDs out there is staggering. Especially so when they all claim to have the greatest solution ever conceived. I have discovered in my travels that it is not a diet that will help you, but a lifestyle change that you keep up with every day. The moment you abandon your diet is the moment that all of the weight you lost begins to come back to you. It may be immediate or it may take awhile, but if you go back to your old way of living the weight will come with it.

Many programs out there advocate a healthy lifestyle over a simple diet, and these are the programs I choose to follow.
