Tattoo Removal: A Second Chance For Those Who Have Regret Their Ink

Tattoos are inked on the skin to live on forever. They represent the things that matter to us, the things that we want to express, and the aspirations that we want to remember. But sometimes, we alter what we want, our dreams take another route, and the past wants to be forgotten. The tattoos that were intended to accompany us in our life are now undesired reminders of our one-time faux pas. Fortunately, there are tattoo removal options for people who change their mind.

For those who don’t want to undergo pricey and invasive tattoo removal, they can just hide the ink with another ink. You can use regular cosmetic concealer to cover it up, but for a more permanent technique, you can hide it with another tattoo. With this method, you only need a good imagination and a regular tattoo machine.

But disguising has its restrictions. If you have very dark, imposing tattoo, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to cover up. You will need a skilled tattoo artist who has experience in covering up tattoos if you want a nearly flawless outcome.

Laser To Get Rid Of Tattoos

There are few tattoo removal means accessible for those who regret their inks. The most efficient is laser treatment. This procedure works by directing short pulses of intense light toward the ink. The laser beams break up the ink particles into smaller units, which are then removed by the body’s immune system.

Tattoo removal by laser therapy involves a number of sessions split over 3 to 8 weeks periods, depending on the age and size of the tattoo, how deeply it was injected, and the color and kind of ink that were used.

Not all tattoos can be removed completely by laser tattoo removal, though. Although the method is viewed as very effective already, there are still cases when residual ink is left on the skin. Results of the treatments vary on the placement of the ink on the body and the lightness of one’s skin color.

With laser treatment, you are required to pay a few hundreds of dollars per session. Multiple sessions can total thousands of dollars. Also, you will be wearing a sunburned-like skin patch for a few months, but this will ultimately pass.

Tattoos are created to last forever, but people change, so should their tattoos. There may come a time when tattoos no longer speak for you, they no longer speak to you. Fortunately, tattoo removal can help you move on and delete that mark.
