A lot of persons who have been exposed to some noise pollution lose their hearing at a young age. No, they may not regain 100 percent of their hearing even with the use of some modern hearing aid technology but the good news is that by using new hearing aid technology, these persons might not lead normal life.

Behind the Ear Hearing Aids

Over the years, hearing aid technology has improved significantly. Everything has changed a lot since the time Harvey Fletcher invented the body worn hearing aid technology while working at Bells Laboratories. During the time of Fletcher, the body worn hearing aids were the size of a pack of playing cards. This bulky hearing aid technology includes an ear mold, a cord and an amplification pact.

To apply this, you have to put on the ear mold with a cable that is attached to this on your ear. The audio system that happens to be the size of a pack of cards is worn on a belt or stuffed in the pocket. Yes, this kind of hearing aid technology is not only bulky; it is usually unsightly. Luckily, everything has improved much over the years.

Very few persons around the world now utilize body worn hearing aid that is developed by Harvey Fletcher. In reality, this sort of contraption is no longer being produced by manufactures. Taking its place is the new BTE (behind the ear) devices which are small enough to be almost imperceptible to the less observant people. Are BTEs better compared to body worn hearing aids? BTEs are definitely far better compared to body worn hearing aids. Research shows that BTEs can be used even by those who have serious hearing problems.

What is more interesting about this hearing aid technology is that it gets better and better. At present, there are BTEs that use thin hair such as tubes that will help you hear. Since these tubes are very thin, they are almost invisible to the naked eye. Persons who do not want to be seen using hearing aids want to use this contraption because they are almost imperceptible. BTEs also come in difference style and colors to suit the needs of fashionable people who have hearing problems.

Hearing aid is a good product which is used to solve hearing problems. On other hand, several people out there also want to get ear protectors to protect their ear from noise around them. They can also think about using best ear plugs to get the right protection for their ears.
