High Cholesterol And It’s Risks
By Don Ray
Cholesterol is a waxy type, fat-like substance made in the liver and found incertain foods, such as food from animals, like eggs, meat, and dairy products (whole milk),. Cholesterol is transported by two types of proteins. Cholesterol is regularly produced by your liver and helps transport fat to areas of your body that require it for energy and maintenance.
Heart
High levels of cholesterol in the body can lead to very serious problems like heart disease. When atherosclerosis affects the coronary arteries (the blood vessels that supply the muscles of the heart), the illness is called coronary artery disease, which puts a person at risk for having a heart attack or cardiac arrest.
You can’t change your genetics but there are things you can do now to lessen your risk for cardiac illness later. Although not all the factors contributing to heart disease and high cholesterol can be managed , many can.
Stay away from foods that are high in saturated fat, trans fat,and cholesterol, all of which raise bad cholesterol levels and your risk of developing heart disease. Reducing your cholesterol level lessens your chance for having a plaque explode and cause cardiac arrest.
For these people the fight against cholesterol is never-ending because they are are at risk for heart disease. In fact, lifestyle modifications may have a greater impact on lessening the risk of stroke and heart disease than does medication alone.
High cholesterol is only one of several risk factors for stroke and heart attack . Although high cholesterol is a strong risk factor for heart disease, it can be controled.
Many americans have been unsuccessful using traditional medicine to control their cholesterol, fortunately there is a combination of beneficial cholesterol lowering herbs that is helping many people in their struggle to manage cholesterol levels.
