Hypnosis For Weight Control- Is It Right For You?
Hypnosis for weight control is commonly practiced when other methods have failed. Before resorting to this option, make sure it is the right choice for you. There is no guarantee that hypnosis will work. It might work on some people, but it certainly is not for every one. Remember that a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly goes a long way.
In America, people are becoming more and more obese, including children. Losing weight is a battle that we don’t seem to be winning at the moment. And it certainly is not easy. Diets are doomed to fail. It takes a lifestyle change to lose weight and keep the weight off. More often than not, dieters find them selves yo-yo dieting. And this is dangerous.
Verbal gestures and/or mental images are often used during hypnosis. Your attention is focused on the suggestions you are given. People tend to be more responsive in a hypnotic state as their conscious mind is elsewhere, allowing the suggestions to sink it and be worked on by your unconscious mind. Hypnosis may be used with other methods. Sometimes hypnosis alone may not be enough.
Eating in moderation, maintaining a well-balanced diet and exercising has proven to be effective and there is no substitute for that. And if you still can’t lose weight, then hypnosis may be one of the options to try. The effectiveness of hypnosis is still questioned.
During the procedure, you are put into a relaxed state of mind. You will be asked to focus is on what you want to achieve. For example, the hypnotherapist may tell you that you no longer want to overeat or give you other suggestions that will ease you into a weight loss pattern.
