Acne Remedy Options – Get Rid Of Unsightly Acne

By Louise Jenkins

Though acne is not a serious skin condition, it is an irritating one for many. Finding the right acne remedy for your skin type is essential to finally clearing your skin up. Because there are so many types of this condition and people all have different skin types as well, some remedies may work for some while they will not work for others and vice versa.

It seems as if everyone has a solution to acne and is willing to offer up their own personal remedy. Tea tree oil is a favored at home acne remedy because it is believed kills the bacteria that causes your skin to break out, this makes it an often used and effective method of clearing up your skin. The tea tree oil is diluted and applied with a cotton ball.

Another home acne remedy is popular is taking zinc. Keep in mind that with some people, zinc can upset the stomach. If this seems like it will be a problem for you, there are also alternatives that use herbal supplements that may work for you. Herbal supplements includes a slew of herbs that have to be consumed each day.

One of the simpler home remedies is taking an ice cube and rubbing it on the areas affected by acne as soon as you get up in the morning. Another simple treatment is taking baking soda and mixing it with water to get rid of the acne. Some other treatments that have been reported to be successful in treating acne are goats milk, honey, and tarmac powder.

There are many over the counter options that you can turn to as well. Most over the counter medications contain benzyl peroxide, which is extremely drying to the skin — it is effective for many, but for some the drying effect can be too severe. These over the counter medications can be purchased for around five dollars and just may help.

A prescription remedy will require a visit to a dermatologist and can get quite expensive. For this reason, it might be better to hold off on a doctor’s visit unless your acne is severe. Prescription solutions often come in pill form or as topical applications.

Seeking out the perfect acne solution is not as easy as one would suspect. Testing products out on your on and reading reviews will be a great help to finding a long-term solution.
