The fifth most common disease and the fourth leading cause of death all over the modern world, is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD. Besides being deadly, COPD disease can also be very debilitating.

Over half of all COPD patients state that they are all but unable to do even simple everyday things like social activities, chores around the house, even sleeping, and anything physical in nature such as sports, or biking or hiking, are impossible.

I’m not going to go into what is COPD, where it comes from, or how bad it is, however don’t believe all your told about it being incurable and how anyone who gets it will have to live out the rest of their life stuck to an oxygen tank taking corticosteroids and huffing inhalers. I wonder, did I leave out any other options offered to COPD sufferers by modern medical science? Well yeah, for the insurance enriched there’s always lung surgery, and for the very fortunate, a good old fashioned lung transplant.

Of course if you haven’t quit already you know that smoking has got to go, but even if you can’t quit and feel totally dependent on your medications, there is plenty you can do naturally to curb the tide of the symptoms it produces and in many cases even cure it. No doubt a cure is an optimistic proposition, but it can be achieved by discontinuing exposure to the cause, and through combining several holistic remedies simultaneously.

To start with, the most convenient, least expensive, yet most powerful natural cure for COPD would have to be the elemental miracle, and why anyone with COPD who found out about it would neglect to immediately start reaping the benefits from it, is beyond me. Even though it’s capable of eliminating this disease all by itself, the best plan of attack would be to use it simultaneously with the other natural remedies for COPD, listed in the following summary.

-Hydrogen Peroxide has been relied on for over a century to heal every disease known to man, especially COPD. Those with COPD related ailments seem to prefer inhaling it. All you do is put a 3% solution in an inhaler and take it several times a day, or you can receive the same benefits through taking it internally, by mixing a quarter teaspoon in a glass of water and drinking it three times a day on an empty stomach. Also you can take a soaking bath with hydrogen peroxide mixed in with your bath water. Food grade hydrogen peroxide is always the recommended form to use, but do plenty of research about it before you get started.

-MSM is an excellent natural treatment for helping to strip accumulated bio-films from the lungs. Start with 1 tsp. 3 times a day with plenty of water. Gradually increase to 1 Tbsp. 3 times a day, mixed in plenty of water.

-DMSO is an excellent COPD remedy due to it’s ability to provide protection from COPD symptoms by eliminating lung buildup, simply mix it fifty-fifty with water and use it in an inhaler.

-Colloidal Silver provides COPD patients with a great deal of relief by eliminating chest infections. Not only is it taken orally as a natural antibiotic, but whenever their sputum turns from clear to yellow they halt any further spread of the infection by using it in their inhaler.

-Virgin Coconut Oil has been found to benefit those with COPD. It can be taken a few teaspoons at a time with meals and in juice or tea as needed to help thin out mucous, and/or for opening nasal passages.

-Thyme drank as an herbal tea offers much in the way of relief to people with COPD. It helps to clear upper respiratory infections in addition to relieving other COPD symptoms.

Never underestimate the power of herbs as a COPD treatment because there are so many that are very beneficial such as Licorice, Indian Tobacco, Garlic, and Marshmallow, to name just a few of the more favored ones. Whenever an expectorant is needed, use Eucalyptus for loosening excessive mucous to make it easier to cough up. Next time before using oxygen for COPD, put a couple of drops of Eucalyptus essential oil in a humidifier and breathe in the air to quickly resolve any breathing difficulties. Those suffering from COPD say it’s an excellent way to fore go having to use oxygen.

No matter what, try to maintain a positive attitude while trying to defend yourself from this disease. Their are so many documented home remedies available to help that have, will, and do work. Although the ones I’ve mentioned here are first class for treating COPD, there are many more. Write up your own holistic regimen to follow but keep taking your prescriptions, and in no time you’ll feel less and less need for all of those medications.

A natural approach to COPD disease is preferred, and why not? The remedies are in many cases immediately effective, they’re safe, and can be combined to speed up the results. Of course everything in moderation, as time will tell. All things considered, if you make the effort and do your homework an actual cure for COPD in many cases, is not impossible.
