Fibromyalgia is a troublesome condition but you need to NEVER permit it to overtake your life!

If you’re planning to have a child and start a family, you don’t have to modify your intention simply because you have fibromyalgia. Yes it is true, having fibromyalgia can make your pregnancy more troublesome, but there are many moms who managed to successfully carry a baby to full term while handling fibro, and I suspect most of them will tell you it’s worthwhile. The truth is, after seeing my spouse give birth to 2 children, I am astonished by how strong women can be. God knows if I was the one giving birth, I would have probably passed out! : (

The bad news is that with the change in hormonal level when pregnant, your system will become”out of whack“. If you suspect your fibromyalgia was unpredictable before you were pregnant well… You are definitely in for a giant surprise.

Handling fibromyalgia during pregnancy is possible but you need to spend a little time learning about the effect of pregnancy on signs of fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). You also need to keep in touch with your specialist when fibro symptoms flare.

Pregnant or not, stress – both physical and emotional – is understood to trigger fibro. Considering all that’s involved with pregnancy, labor, and delivery, it is very clear that pregnancy is a time of high stress. With pregnancy, there are changes in the levels of estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones. Because, the time after a pregnancy can be difficult for women – even those without fibromyalgia – it’s crucial to be conscious of the likely increase in pain and other symptoms which will happen after giving birth.

One of the largest things to note is that if you are thinking about getting pregnant is that you need to find a way to get off of the medication you are taking as soon as achievable. There are other strategies that is less harmful to you and your future baby, and this site is dedicated to helping you explore these options.

The safest treatments for expecting ladies with fibromyalgia may include massage, exercise, yoga, meditation, and rest.

If you suffer with fatigue and you ache all over, make sure you rest 20 to 30 minutes at least two or three times per day. To ease the ache of tender point pain, try moist heat applications twice a day. A warm shower or bath is a great way to apply moist heat. Also, use gentle stretching exercises and exercises recommended by your doctor for relief.

Exercise helps keep you fit. It fortifies muscles, keeps joints flexible, and boosts mood by increasing serotonin in your body. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that scientists have revealed to be related to fibromyalgia. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that send precise messages from one cell to another. While only a small share of serotonin is located in the brain, this neurotransmitter is said to play a very important part in mediating moods.

As usual, but particularly during your pregnancy, ensure you have lots of help and support! At times , the pain may get even more intolerable and that is when you need to set your mind on that bundle of joy that’s growing in your stomach and press on.

I realize it’s easy for me to state that, but like I claimed, most ladies are much stronger than most guys when it comes to pain, so I have faith in you that you will be able to pull this off!

Word of caution: being pregnant doesn’t suggest that you were given a license to eat what ever you want without any control! Be cautious not to eat things that will increase the level of swelling in your body and control your portions and eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and adequate amounts of protein. Remember you are only eating for 2, not a whole village.

Congratulations to you if you’re now pregnant! Trust me, your life is about to be turned upside down in a few months in a great way!

If you’re thinking of starting a family shortly, congratulations as well! It’s going to be the best decision you will make in your complete life.
