Are you considering trying to lose some weight? If so, you’re not alone, plenty of people are right before summer hits. The problem is, it’s not exactly easy to do, you’ll have to make sure you really want this and stay motivated enough to stick to it.

However if you can stay motivated and you just need to know what to do, then this info here will be able to give you some direction so you can get right to it:

Hit The Weights

Now a lot of people wouldn’t think that lifting weights would help you with your weight loss, but in reality, the more muscle you have on your body, the more calories you will burn throughout the day. This is because muscle requires calories to maintain. The more muscle you have on your body, the better you will look as well at the end of your transformation.

Exercise A Bit

Of course you’re also going to need to hit the treadmill or elliptical to lose that weight. You need to make sure you burn off more calories than you use while you’re at rest. This is called creating a caloric deficit, and unless you are able to do this, you will not lose anything. Just make sure you do cardio at least 3 times a week for 30 or 45 minutes.

If you find that you’re not losing weight all of a sudden, you’ll be able to either up the intensity of the exercise or just do more of it in order to break your weight loss barrier. Just make sure that when you do the cardio that it’s done after you lift weights, otherwise you’ll be too tired.

Eat Healthy

Of course you need to fuel your body well in order to shed those pounds. Do make sure you’re having healthy fats, lean protein and complex carbohydrates or else you’re not going to be seeing much if any weight loss.

As a woman, try limiting your caloric intake to 1200 calories a day, as a guy, you can make that slightly higher, around 1500. You’ll need to be eating foods such as oatmeal, brown rice, brown bread, whole wheat pasta, chicken, fish and nuts.

If you keep this up, you’ll be on your way to a healthier and trimmer looking you.
