Sporting Guns Used During Airsoft Games

By Charles Weaver

Have you ever played Airsoft? This game allows players to simulate combat, as though they were in the military or law enforcement. It’s massively popular and uses specialized Airsoft guns -which look remarkably real by the way – and other gear.

The game, developed in Japan, is massively popular. In fact in Japan, it is popular in part because firearms are so hard to get there. There are many regulations and laws; your average person cannot simply purchase a gun legally.

This is why the alternative of Airsoft was developed. If you trace the popularity of this game, you’ll find that it enjoys the greatest popularity in East Asian countries such as Japan, Taiwan, China and South Korea.

It’s not like paintball, where you shoot each other with little capsules full of paint. The paint in paintball lets you know if you have been hit. In Airsoft, there’s no visible marker of a hit. Unless someone makes a noise or yells because it hurts, you’d never know.

Instead, you have to rely on players’ truthfulness. When a player is hit in this game, they are supposed to raise their gun and announce “hit!” Each team is allowed to have a medic, and the medic can revive the payer so they can go back to play. The rules about weapons being hit vary.

If a weapon is hit, this counts as an extension of the player and it is like the player was hit. Sometimes this is managed differently if they have a secondary weapon. They may then be able to use the secondary weapon instead of the primary one.

You can get Airsoft guns powered via electric, gas, or spring loading. Spring guns are usually cheap. If you get one that fires at a high FPS though, you can be looking at an expensive gun.

Electric guns have battery power. These guns, also called AEG guns, are automatic. They aren’t all that powerful though. Gas powered guns are the most powerful. You can get them and use various gasses with them like high pressure air (HPA), propane, carbon dioxide, and so on.

In addition to airsoft advice, this writer also frequently pens articles regarding heated dog beds and custom fleece blankets.
