The Electronic Cigarette And The Benefits They May Have

By Jeff Smith

This particular cigarette was first introduced in China, in 2003 and sold in 2004. For smokers, this was a benefit if you needed or desired to quit, but needed to continue feeling the sensation of smoking. Read on to learn about using an electronic cigarette and any benefit they may have for you.

At the present time, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers this type of cigarette the same as a drug delivery device. By those standards, it becomes subject to the laws of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA). What this means to the United States consumer is that it cannot be imported for sale without prior approval.

It was overruled by one judge, who stated that it should be regulated in the same manner as other tobacco products. The US Court of Appeal found precedence to uphold the decision of the FDA, and so, the decision stands. Initially, nicotine patches and nicotine gum were regulated by the FDA in the same manner, and this is the precedent that allowed the judgment to stand. When importing is eventually easier, the product may become less costly to those who need it.

Each state has their own opinion on how the cigarettes should be handled. Some states remain unclear about restrictions while others are very firm. California wants to treat them just as they treat tobacco. In fact, they vetoed a bill that wanted to ban their sale in the state.

Smoking cigarettes has been proven to cause lung cancer. Has it been proven that it is the nicotine in the cigarettes that causes the cancer or everything that is added to the tobacco when the cigarettes are being made. A list of five hundred and ninety-nine additives to cigarettes was published. All of the additives on the list had been approved for food, but none had been tested by burning for cigarette approval. Chemicals change when they are heated.

Nicotine is an addictive drug. One of the main health benefits is that the nicotine intake can be regulated. The tobacco company has been doing if for many years, and it has been increasing steadily. The average increase was almost two percent per year between the years of 1998 and 2005. Nicotine burns up during smoking, only a small portion is actually inhaled per cigarette while smoking.

Smoking of any kind will never be healthy. There are options to quit, but they all have side-affects, and most contain nicotine. When you are trying to quit an addictive drug, it is usually done gradually. Cigarettes are psychologically addictive, as well as physically addictive. The electronic cigarette can help with both of those areas at the same time.
