The King of the Masticating Juicers

By Tim S Bramwell

For many years now the wheatgrass juicer has been the slow old granddaddy of juicers. Anyone who was in their right minds would always buy a centrifugal juicer. Why might you want to waste that additional time, slowly pushing fruit and vegetables and wheat grass through a masticating juicer?

The key differences are that the masticating juicer is slower, not because it is healthier, or it is causing less oxidation but because it is doing everything in a more natural way. Centrifugal juicers actually spin at high speeds, and cut or grate through the vegetables and fruit.

Presently there are a couple of schools of thought on whether this really is healthier or not, or whether this leads to more oxidation or not. Nevertheless the inescapable fact is none of us have a spinning grater inside our mouths. Everyone has to munch and chew and chew. This is exactly what a masticating juicer does.

But that is not to say that we cannot improve the idea! We might not have access to blades inside our mouths, but a majority of animals sure do have bigger mouths than we all do. If we took the current masticating juicer design, flipped it into a vertical configuration. Then we make the auger as well as the sieve a lot bigger; then we’ll have a larger through put of vegetables and fruit and therefore a more substantial yield of juice within a far shorter length of time.

You will find there’s new Juicer on the market; it goes by many names, the Hurom HU-100 ULTEM or the KT100 or the HU-200, HU-300, HU-400. As well as a few of the other Vertical models. There are marginal differences in many of these, mostly these model numbers reference colour or generation of design. A few of the other vertical models are simply rebranded Hurom.

When you Google some of these model numbers you will see the new king of the juicers and if you are a juicing enthusiast or simply a health nut you definitely would like to get your hands on one of these!

This Juicer has a wider neck for larger pieces of vegetables and fruit, though you still definitely want to cut up incredibly large items. Additionally, it has a large single auger along with a very large sieve, created from GE ULTEM plastic which is virtually indestructible.

You’ll find it has a little new feature we have not found in the juicing arena before, and that is the ability to self-clean or keep itself somewhat clean. It has a little rotating brush which constantly keeps the sieve clean. Then when you’re ready to change recipes or perhaps you want to finally clean the juicer you just run water through it and you’re able to perform one final clean under the tap.

This juicer will not be the last of your life since it is probably going to provide you with a longer life, however it will definitely draw the line with regards to the best masticating juicer you can currently have.

Tim S Bramwell is a health food fanatic and juicing enthusiast who uses a Hurom Juicer to live the healthier fullest life ever. If you are looking for a Hurom Juicer we can help at Fresh Green Juice! With the Hurom Juicer HU-100 ULTEM you can make the freshest juice every time.
