There are lots of people who think that it is difficult to find an effective natural cure for cracked heels. The natural treatments don’t actually need any professional pedicures as this could cost a lot of money. It’s possible to get some natural ways of treating cracked heels. These treatments will not normally cost very much money. There are lots of products within most kitchens which are good for removing this problem.
Depending on severity, the cracked heel problem actually may not only require one treatment. One of the best treatments for cracked heels is to soak the feet in warm water with oatmeal for between twenty and thirty minutes.
It is best to use about half of a cup of oatmeal in the hot water. It is very useful if you can use a bucket which is big enough to put both feet in at the same time. Oatmeal is an excellent product which is able to moisten and soften the feet. Following soaking both your feet, you will have to scrape them using a specially designed pumice stone as this will get rid of any dried skin. When you are scraping your feet it’s a very good idea to keep them wet in order to avoid injury.
It is very important not to overdo the scraping as there will be fresh skin under the cracks and this will be very sensitive. Once you have scraped your feet it is very important to apply a lotion.
If your heels are in a very bad condition it may be a good idea to apply a petroleum jelly such as Vaseline to them. Prior to applying the jelly, ensure that you have thick socks close at hand, as you will not want to be walking around on the floor. You should wear the socks once you have applied this treatment and only remove the socks once you have had a full night rest.
It’s important to be careful when you are taking the socks off in the morning. Petroleum based jelly can be very slippery. Once the socks have been taken off, it’s important to wipe the rest of the jelly off your feet and give your feet a good wash in an attempt to prevent any accidents.
If your heels are so severe that this treatment does not really make any difference, you will require further treatment from other natural methods for relieving the problem of cracked heels. It is very important to not delay the treatments, as the problem will just get worse.
