Sometimes we have rough times when we feel bad, alone, or totally empty in a way that we do not know how to fill up that devastating emptiness. If we are eating cyclically or repetitively when we are depressed is a common syndrome that many people face, especially around the holidays. The psychologists often label this as Seasonal Affective Disorder. When we are eating something that, to us, makes us feel good also makes us feel full and gives us some satisfaction for a very brief time. But, that good feeling doesn’t last. Once we start a cycle of depressive eating, it easily becomes a repetitive loop –we eat to feel better and then find that we must continue to eat to keep our bad feelings from re-entering our lives.
During the stressful and emotional holiday events we really feel it and begin a depressive eating often gets the best of us. Many of us find ourselves starting the New Year with more than a few extra pounds left over from depressive eating around holiday time. Too often that is too much to cope with and we find ourselves even more depressed and slipping into a permanent cycle of stress/depressive eating that leaves us overweight and unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t become a slave to repetitive depressive eating. You can learn to let go of this self-destructive habit starting right now.
That was when I discovered that I was unable to solve the problem myself, I researched possible solutions, and I discovered that hypnosis for depressive eating repetition is really effective because it helps you to change the programming that directs your habitual eating and eliminates the attitude that causes the problem in the first place. Use hypnosis to reprogram yourself to short circuit your own impulse to pig out when you feel sad or lonely. Effectively replace that impulse with a healthy and positive activity which might be exercise, walking, drinking water, swimming, aerobics, or just helping others who needed help themselves.
