The most important thing about getting a six pack abs body is having a low enough body fat percentage; so that those ripped abdominal muscles can show through.
That said, shredding and trying to lose those fats especially in your mid section area are the hardest, simply because your body is intending on keeping them no matter what you wish! The better way to do so is to actually find out how much food or caloric intake you need daily to upkeep your current body weight, and simply deduct 15% of the food intake so that it does not put your body in shock and start conserving those fats. You can find tools available online that will help you calculate the exact figure you need, and these numbers will also take into consideration of your daily activities and your age.
You should also try to spread out those caloric intakes into 5 smaller meals instead of your normal 3 large meals, this way your body will see that you are not in anyway in danger of starving and will in turn speed up your metabolism rate, which can even help you burn fats faster.
Aside from eating alone only, you should also have some form of cardio workouts in your everyday schedule. Jogging, running, outdoor sports, swimming and kickboxing are all example exercises that you can easily pick up and do on a daily basis, they will help increase the heart rate and burn those excess fats faster.
Do bear in mind that some of these workouts are of higher intensity than the rest, therefore try to have a nice balance between low intensity and high intensity, aim to incorporate at least 3 high intensity workouts a week, whereas you can safe do lower intensity cardio workouts everyday, activities such as kick boxing, running, soccer which can put you out of breathe are great example of high intensity workouts. Whereas jogging or any other form that will not leave you gasping for air are of lower intensity cardiovascular workouts.
