If you have been wistful about the food which will call for carrots and the numerous health properties that carrots have, but you’ve been turned off from the woody and hard texture of carrots themselves, then it’s time that you started cooking with new carrots! New carrots are an excellent vegetable to add to your diet, and you’ll find that by eating new carrots, you will have a fantastic texture which could be crunchy & crisp without being tough!

If you shop regularly from top of the line groceries and even if you do not, you may find that carrots are being bred in many different colors. Some people who’re turned away from bright orange shade of carrots will find themselves drawn to carrots of different shade. Carrots can now occur in yellow, bright red, darker orange, and purple. What’s interesting to note, however, is that with those new pigments come new advantages. For example, yellow carrots have a bigger dose of xantophylls, to which a lot of people attribute good eye health, while purple carrots have powerful antioxidants.

When you’re eating carrots, regardless of what the color, you’re getting a healthy dose of vit C and A. Both of those vitamins could prevent illness and aid you stay healthy, particularly if it comes to the eyes and the skin. Carrots are also a fantastic source of folic acid, a substance that’s necessary for nursing mothers and being beneficial for adults and kids. You will also find that carrots are a significant part of fighting cancer, strokes and reducing the blood pressure.

When you’re looking to cook with carrots, there’re a lots of ways to do so. If you like a little of crunch in your salads, have some time and shred some up or dice little pieces to throw into a bed of greens. If you like softer textures, boil or bake them and then spread on the dressing of your choice. You will find you could also take numerous baby carrots, toss them with garlic powders, salt & pepper, cover with olive oil and then bake at 400 degrees for about 30 mins. This makes a wonderful treat that’s both good for you and low in calories.
