What Are The Causes Of Back Pain?

People who experience back pain often do one of the two things. Thinking that the pain will take care of itself, they either ignore it or use pain killers. As much as possible, you should try to cure back pain as it’ll cause real problems in your life later on. It must be treated as soon as the pain emerges.

Drugs don’t really last for a long time although they do provide immediate relief to back pain. Drugs are short-term aid and can easily affect your life on the bigger scale. Some can also help you to get sleep which may be very useful for back pain relief. You may adopt several methods to get rid of back pain immediately.

Taking pain killers are one such method. They can completely eliminate your pain at least for a short period of time. They can also avoid the condition from getting worsen. People who are unable to even move can get around a bit by taking pain killers. Doctors prescribe pain killers according to patient’s condition. Some of the anti inflammatory non steroidal drug brands include Voltaren, Diflunisal, Relafen, Naprosyn, Celebrex, Motrin, Ibuprofen and Indocin.

These can be taken along with NSAID’s. NSAID’s can be a bit harsh on the stomach and hence they must be taken with milk and other liquid food that will help line the wall of stomach. If you’ve had ulcer, or internal bleeding in stomach, you should check your condition with a GP. Boswellia, a natural herb, is another approach to back pain relief. Use of this will avoid any type of side effects to the stomach.

Muscle relaxant is also a class of drug that helps in back pain relief. This is often used in case of strains and sprains. This helps to loosen the muscles and relieve the pain. Valium, Soma, Diazepam, Flexeril, etc are some of the more common brands. You can also get rid of the pain immediately by taking ice treatment.

However, this is only temporary. By pressing the ice cubes on the affected part you can get rid of the pain. If the pain does not subside with ice treatment then go for heat treatment. This will reduce the inflammations and will relax the muscles. This is accomplished by holding hot water bag and pressing it at the affected area.
