Your body can only work with what you give it. If you eat poorly and don’t exercise, it responds accordingly, with weight gain and lethargy. If you eat a balanced diet and include plenty of exercise, you will feel stronger and you’ll be healthier. Your immune system will have what it needs to fight off infections which will impact your quality of life.
Never take your diet and nutrition lightly. If you work regularly or intensely to loose weight, you may want to add supplements to your diet. Supplements help build and repair your muscles, especially after a workout. New muscles require a high protein level.
For the healthiest lifestyle you should incorporate the following food groups into your diet.
Carbohydrates. Bread, pasta, rice and potatoes are carbohydrates that provide energy to the body. Carbohydrates that come from soda, sugary drinks, candies and sweets are not very good for your body. When your body stores excess carbs, they turn into fat. However, to have energy to workout, you need a healthy amount of carbohydrates.
Vitamins and Minerals. Their job is to regulate the body processes and help your immune system stay healthy. Many crucial vitamins and minerals come from fresh fruits and vegetables.
Protein. These are the building blocks of muscles. They enhance memory and aide your immune system.
Iron and Calcium. They are considered the building blocks of the body. You’ll find iron in meat. Calcium is found in milk products and is necessary for strong bones and teeth.
Fiber. It can be sometimes overlooked in a person’s diet. It is necessary for good health, since it improves digestion and prevents gallstones. People can get their needed fiber from grains, cereals, oats and certain fruits and vegetables. There are also mix-in supplements that you can take to ensure you have enough fiber in your diet.
If you workout hard you have to give your body what it needs for energy and to build muscle. Make sure you have a well-balanced diet and include extra amounts of protein. Your body will reward you with better health, tone and definition.
