For decades, mood jewelry has been extremely popular with people of all ages. Some people wear them for fun and do not wholeheartedly believe that they actually work. However there are many people who actually believe in mood ring color meanings. These are the people who believe that a piece of jewelry that is an indicator of mood gives them a sort of control over their emotional state.

The varying hues of the jewelry stones are used to determine the strong emotional feelings that a person may be experiencing. Even though there are non-believers, many individuals do not let these doubts sway them. Essentially, the colors decipher true internal feelings.

Even though many don’t believe that the hues mean anything, mood jewelry does in fact work. The reason it works is quite simple. It is basic chemistry and biology. Emotional and mental states are controlled by the brain which allows the body to reflect these changes physically. A perfect example is the temperature of the skin. When relaxed and calm, a person’s skin temperature is usually warm. When agitated or stressed, the skin temperature cools. These changes are what is picked up by the mood jewelry.

There are usually twelve colors that mood jewelry generally use. Each one has a very distinct meaning and some even have multiple meanings. Some of the most common hues are grayish blue, purple, red, two different shades of green, gold, violet, three different shades of blue, yellow, gray, and black.

The hues will change depending on the owner’s mood. A perfect example of this is when the wearer is relaxed and calm, the hue is light blue. When that person begins to get stressed or is feeling incredibly passionate, the indicator will turn red.

There are some key things to understand about ring color meanings. The first is that some of the hues have more than one meaning. Another is that some indicators will show a combination of colors which typically indicates conflicting emotions. Despite the fact that the meanings are usually correct, it is important not to get too caught up in them. They are simply outward showings of what a person is already feeling.
