Tips That You Can Follow When You Write A Book

By Greg Pierce

“Writing a book is a fun hobby for those who are intellectually equipped. For some, they write about academic books or the like but others would prefer to write about their feelings and experiences in life. Others also write to tell a story and share their knowledge. Books have been around ever since. Books are a medium of information that even the ancient times have already enjoyed. Many tips are available today about writing books that many would value.

The first that you need to consider is the topic that you will be writing about. What is the message that you want to impart to your readers? This is actually the very important step when you plan to write a book/ The moment you have decided the nature of the book that you are going to write it’s time to conduct your research. Try to read books from other authors but don’t ever copy their work. Read their work and be inspired.

Secondly, make sure you are able to manage your day-to-day activities as book writing will entail a lot of your time. There are occasions when you may have to forgo of the usual things you do just to be able to write. Knowing when you are most comfortable also helps. Some authors write during the morning because they think that they are in their best element during that time. There are also those who do it best at night just before going to sleep. These people usually like to reflect on the things they have done for the day and let these things inspire them when it’s time to write. The point is to find your best rhythm when you feel you can write the best lines.

Lastly, prepare an outline of your book, how you want to present you ideas and how to entice people to read more of what you have to offer. Your book should have implied categories and subcategories that would help your readers understand or digest the thoughts and ideas that you put into your book. Combine your research with your own feelings and thoughts about your topic. This allows you to be original but open-minded as well.

Most of all, when you write, write for the love of it. Writing because you’re passionate about it produces far greater results than when you do it for any other purpose.

The value of reading books can never be undermined. Have your children join the Mystery Guild book club, Book of the Month club or any other group of book lovers so they will be encouraged to make reading a hobby. Wide readers always learn more in life and it would be great to have your kids start early.
