There are plenty of creative ideas for Star Trek costumes if you find your kid invited to a Star Trek themed costume party. A little on line research will usually reveal some good results.
A child on the taller side can go as Mr. Spock, complete with insignia embroidered on his shirt. Great accessories would include Vulcan ears, a dark wig with a bowl cut, and a tiny bit of eye makeup.
Let his friends in on the plan so that they can all have fun dressed up as crew members of the Star Trek star ship enterprise. That will also startle their costumed peers at the party event they’ll be going to.
Do-it-yourself Star Trek costumes for the rest of the kids may suffice, especially if you have an authentic one already at hand which you can easily copy.
A V-necked shirt and skinny pants, or a body-hugging jumpsuit are your options for the boys. Remember that boys’ Star Trek uniforms are almost always long-sleeve shirts coupled with black pants and black shoes.
So as long as the long sleeve shirt is a single color, it should look just like a Star Fleet uniform with a simple communicator badge on the chest.
As for the girl’s outfit, she can knock them out in a classic V-necked bright red mini dress with a black turtle-necked top underneath. Simply sew a patch that looks like the authentic Star Trek costumes’ emblem and let the little miss wear black boots or booties with knee-high socks and she’s ready for galactic fun.
If you don’t necessarily have the extra time on your hands to fashion homemade outfits, then check out the newest selections of Star Trek costumes from online retailers that make great Halloween or birthday costume party wear.
Regardless of where you get them, you and your children will definitely have fun showing off their high quality Star Fleet ensembles.
