Why is it that every time you get a passport photo, it looks worse than a driver’s license picture? There must be some sort of program built into the software that makes it distort and look as funny as it does. It seems like a small boring town, with not much to do.

But with a little investigating and a little help from the trusty internet, you will discover the world’s largest chair. It sits at a downtown intersection next to the railroad tracks and is worth a look at. If for no other reason than to say you’ve seen it. You would also miss the best Lexington barbecue in the state just a few miles up the road. There are so many examples of local sights and sounds and tastes that are just waiting to be experienced all around the country.

Don’t lock yourself up in the hotel room, get out and discover these things. After all, you may never be in Thomasville, North Carolina again and you don’t want to miss your only opportunity to see these things. Traveling doesn’t just mean leaving the country, and too far away exotic port of call. There are plenty of new and interesting things to do and see in just the lower forty-eight. Most people don’t take the time to discover all the rich history and varying cultures that are offered in our own back-yard.
