A smart way of saving the mother earth is to recycle old car tires. It would be advisable to change your tires in a car shop that offers recycling programs because if tires are disposed improperly it could be hazardous to your health. If unused tires are stacked in large piles it tends to burn and produce tire fire fumes that releases toxic pollutants to the air which causes respiratory ailments as well as other diseases.

To prevent mosquitoes and rodents from breeding and expose you to certain disease, old tires should not be disregarded and disposed of improperly such as stacking and piling them in a landfill.

Non-biodegradable materials which contain different chemicals are what tires are made up. These chemicals are hazardous because when it leaches into the soil it can cause land and water poisoning. Car tires recycling can help protect the environment, it decrease air pollution, water, and soil contamination. Sited are a few tips that would help protect you and the environment from the harmful effects as a result of improper disposal of used tires.

- Bring old tires to a tire retailer or a service station that facilitates tire recycling. The good thing right now is that most stations have enhanced ways to recycle tires in an eco friendly manner. They would convert the tire to something useful. The good thing is that some service stations would even take the tire and recycle them for free.

- Old tires can be shred and used to make other things such as rubberized highway asphalt, sports court, and other rubber materials used for making other products.

- Building an obstacle course in your children’s playground is another way to utilize old tires. Aside from being inexpensive it helps your kids to be trained and inclined in sports. Or you can even create a swing made up of tires; all you need is a rope and a sturdy branch where you can tie your tire swing.

- You can use the old tires as pots for your plants instead of buying new pots for your garden. You can even paint it to add more beauty and color in your garden.

- Some shoemakers use old tires as soles of worn out shoes. It is great idea because it not only recycles the tires but the worn out shoes as well.

- Tires can make an excellent and long lasting bumper for your boat. Assuming you have a boat.

- Your old car tires may be converted into trash bins. Additionally, using old tires as trash bins are far better than bins made of plastic and metal because it isn’t noisy.

- Burning car tires produce fumes which are damaging to the environment thus it’s not a suitable way of recycling a tire. But nowadays old tires can be burned inside a vacuum environment; this process separates the raw components of tires such as oil, carbon, steel and gas. These raw materials may be reused to make new tires or for other purposes.
