An Air Purifier And Ionizer Will Help You

By Micheal Webb

The increasing number of pollutants in the air is causing more and more people to be concerned about their health. These pollutants are often responsible for various illnesses and diseases especially in the respiratory system. Studies show that people who are mostly indoors – in homes and buildings, are more exposed to air contaminants than those who are mostly outdoors. This is mostly because indoor air is mostly concentrated while air contaminants in the air is mostly diluted or is widely spread outdoors. Indoor contaminants that contribute to the poor air quality include dust, pollen, gases, chemicals, and other volatile organic compounds. These allergens affect different people in different ways, depending on their health and age.

Indoor Air Pollutant

There are about 300,000 types of molds known to man and they are one of the most common indoor pollutants found in the home. These fungi thrive in areas where there are high levels of humidity and moisture such as bathrooms, basements, closets and other damp areas. Other than airborne molds, dust and pollen are also common air pollutants that are found in homes.

How to improve indoor air quality

Cleaning your home regularly is the single most effective and most inexpensive way of improving the quality of your indoor air. These harmful substances in the air can be minimized or even eliminated by thorough cleaning especially in areas such as kitchen sinks, bathroom, garage, basement and other areas that are constantly exposed to moisture and dampness. Not only will it keep the air in your home clean but it will also prevent other pests and insects from breeding inside your home. Keeping your home properly ventilated by keeping windows open is also effective in keeping it dry and less humid. However, it is not very ideal for homes in areas with high pollen count especially during spring and summer. This is especially true when you have a garden or when you have someone in your home that is highly sensitive to pollen or has asthma.

Air purifiers and ionizer

A good investment for people who are sensitive to airborne substances or those who have asthma is an air purifier. Air purifiers and ionizers are designed to filter the air that goes into your home or room and clean it of harmful substances such as spores, viruses, bacteria, dust and pollen. Very good models are capable of purifying 97% of the air as they filter large and small particles.

Choosing the right air purifier

If you are in the lookout for the right air purifier, other than the price, there are important factors that you need to take into consideration. The health benefits of using an air purifier can be negated by the amount of ozone that is emitted by the machine in purifying the air. This is often the case with models that are electrostatic or the ionic air purifiers. To eliminate this problem, choose models that uses HEPA or High-Efficiency Particulate Air filters as they are proven to be very effective in purifying air but do not emit harmful substances such as ozone. You should also consider the size of the room. Small rooms only require small air purifiers and larger rooms require larger air purifiers to effectively filter all the air that goes in and out of the room.

There are many reasons to use an Air Purifier And Ionizer in your home, from helping those with allergies breath easier, to fresh, clean smelling air: http://www.airpurifiers2day.info/ar/air-purifier-and-ionizer.php .
