Celebrating Cinco De Mayo In San Antonio

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated all across the United States. There is a very long history of celebrating this holiday in Texas. In Texas, which was after once a part of Mexico. The event has been an important holiday statewide for a long time.

San Antonio is the second largest city of Texas. San Antonio particularly celebrates this event. San Antonio gets visited by so many tourists at every time of the year. Not only do they come for this event, but they also visit places like the Alamo. This is great if you want to enjoy fine Mexican cooking and interesting musical performances.

Another official San Antonio celebration will take place at Plaza Guadalupe. This festival gets starts early and lasts all day. There is a variety of family friendly activities present. Some include: live music, dance performances, and activities for visitors of all ages. It is one of the city’s most popular events (and it’s free).

The Ballet Folklorico de Cielo’s performance is something you do not want to miss if you are a fan of Mexican dance performances. The Ballet Folklorico de Cielo’s performance is a well known San Antonio Latino folk dance organization which is famous in the whole state of Texas. St. Mary’s University is close to the San Antonio International Airport (this is in case you’re flying in to San Antonio for the celebration). So, you can surely stop by and come to the downtown area celebrations at Plaza Guadalupe or El Mercado.

So, Cinco de Mayo takes place on May 5th. Almost no places in the country celebrate this holiday like Texas. To be more specific, San Antonio is praised for being the best place in the country for attending this holiday. You are in for a surprise if you come.
