You will probably have seen one of those funny television commercials, where a homeowner enters the garage and cannot find the car. Only by pressing the car’s remote does the vehicle show itself. This may not be so funny to you if your garage is a terrible mess as well, however. Be proud of that room once again and get to work on your spring cleaning, now!
If your garage is cluttered beyond belief, you need to start from the bottom up and conduct an extensive operation. Start by removing everything and putting it into three piles. One pile is for goodwill, the other pile is for the garbage and the third pile is for items that you need to keep, be ruthless! You know that the majority of “stuff” you keep the view can be thrown out.
Once you clear the room, you can see what a mess is left on the floor from all those stains and muck and dirt. You need to remove all this mess, as if you don’t it will detract from the value of your home whenever you can put the property on the market.
Removing oil stains from the floor is a tough job and will likely require abrasive chemicals and a lot of work. Once you are finished with this, this is the time to place a garage mat on the floor, to absorb any debris that may be brought in from the street, in future.
Have you noticed how dirty your car gets so quickly and how often you have to take it to the car wash? Just think about how much of the muck gets tracked into your garage, every time you come home from a trip in the rain. It doesn’t take long for this to accumulate a real mess, unless you have a garage mat in place to absorb everything for you.
A garage mat is made from polypropylene and will absorb a great deal of dirty water, dirt and grit. Simply allow the mat to dry and vacuum all this out and you will have a place that you can be proud of, once again.
By keeping everything in its place and putting a garage mat beneath every vehicle, your garage will look functional and impressive. Garage mats are attractive to the eye and can be configured for any situation, most notably saving all that backbreaking cleanup work in future.
Don’t use your garage as a repository for junk. Just look at some of the junk that has been stored in there for years and ask yourself whether you really want it? This is the place to store your cars and trucks and with a garage mat to look after the maintenance of this room, you can be proud to call it part of your home once again.
