How To Make Folding Card Tables

By Phil Caxton

There is nothing for relaxing that you can do on holiday than to play a game of cards with your friends and family. In order to play the game well and in an unobstructed manner you need to have a place that has factors conducive to the game and that will not disturb your game. What you need is to consider a range of spacious folding card tables.

Significance of card tables

Card tables are made for people to play cards on and across and they are designed in a manner that brings an element of comfort to the game. But when you add drinks and the refreshments and also at times the ashtray, you are left with very limited playing space for your cards. However if you make your own folding tables keeping these factors in mind then your problem can be solved. Design them so that you can keep your drinks and your ashtray and definitely your cards, to play your game comfortably.

How to build your own card table?

In order to build your own table you need to follow these simple steps;

Cut a 4 foot circle from a good and sturdy piece of plywood.

Next, buy are about 12 wood strips which are about inch squares in size and about a dozen screws with flat heads.

The next thing to do is to place the ply down and measure it from the sides and then make a mark of the outline to ensure that the table top is smaller by inches

Cut the wood strips to form the shape of a square that you have marked. You could miter the corners of the table or leave it.

The last thing to do is to drill the strips through the table, up to the top, and screw the strips on so that they are firm.

In order to give it the finished look you can use sand paper and polish the edges.

You can also add a coat of paint and apply as many coats as mentioned on the can.

Though all this may sound laborious, it is definitely worth the effort. And when ready you are sure to be happy with the folding card tables that you can design for every room! The furniture component is ingenious and created with passion for the game. A little creativity and planning can see you incorporate drawers and slide-in glass holders as well!
