Old people are ignored in some countries because they are not anymore useful. They are slow, cannot see well, and are not able to walk without a cane or a walking stick. But they were not like that when they were younger. In their younger days they too had a job, had money and had savings. They might also have been able to raise a family.

But when one reaches a certain point where he cannot anymore do the things that he used to do with the same vigor, he becomes distant and cold. This bitterness is what keeps the children away. So, instead of taking care of their parents themselves, they would choose to send them to an institution.

If ever you are in this kind of situation, you need not fret. Institutions will take you in and care for you. If you are just at home with no one to talk to, you can find a listening ear in the institution and there would be others who will be in a much worse situation than you are in who would need you care and attention. Together, you can talk about your past experiences, share troubles and pains, and eventually, create new friendships.

Your health will also be taken care of as the institutes will have stay in nurses and doctors that will attend to your medical needs 24/7. Even if you are old, you will have daily fun activities like games and story-telling. You will also have sharing activities where each one would be made to share something to the group.
