The good old days when freedom of expression really began. By the 1950′s the television was common to every home and we were in the new age. The Soviet’s succeeded in the first moon landing by 1959, and the United States had put the first man on the moon by 1969, and we felt like the cartoon Jetsons. All during the 70′s the Soviet Union and United States were in a Space Race. Our styles in clothing and furnishings began to reflect that we were ready for future accomplishments and the changes that were coming. Continue reading and find out why funky vintage furniture reflects our history and future.
We may be attached to those special pieces of furniture because they take us back to a special time. Maybe we just like the pieces because they are different and exciting, and they are anything but traditional. You can actually consider each piece its own work of art.
We are so glad to see that retro has come back in style in the home. It has never really gone out of style. People have been collecting it for years. There are some that have started redoing there houses in retro. The style is unique, colorful and very trendy and it seems to never really go out of style.
Sink into a hanging bubble chair sometime and just feel how relaxing it can be; suspended and rocking. Or try an egg or ball chair and feel like you are in your own little world and curl up with a good book. A swan chair can make a great desk chair instead of those boring office types.
If you are not interested in making changes to the entire house, add a few pieces to brighten things up. Your own bedroom, or the den can be a good room to start in. The tulip chairs are available and of course they go in everyone’s kitchen.
Add a great side chair and table next to your bed, and pick out a lamp. There are tables and chairs available to accommodate the needs of any space situation, and any color combination. If you really want to inspire, get a great lamp, it will not be unnoticed.
Go retro and create a home that is a work of art, and not something common. While you are shopping online, take a look at the sofas, and lounge chairs if you think you may be interested in an updated living room setting. By changing to retro, you can add comfort and detail to your home with history and color too. Now you know how funky vintage furniture can be a work of art.
