Getting It Right – Choosing Your Bridal Shower Invitations

By Jessica Nichols

Your tasked with planning a bridal shower for your friend, sister or cousin is a big responsibility. There are so many aspects to an event like this that it can make your head spin. There is food and decorations; and one of the most important elements, the bridal shower invitations. You want to get this right because this shower will really show the bride how much you care about her and wish her well in her new life.

It is not enough to just call the intended guests or send an email. The right thing to do is send official bridal shower invitations. Sending beautiful invitations shows your guests that you really want them to attend the shower. Formal invitations also show that you have style and class and the bride will appreciate you not embarrassing her.

You should match the theme of the shower and the invitations. A traditional shower should have invitations that feature soft colors and pretty flowers. More modern themed bridal showers will use bolder colors and the invitations can use stark lines. You can also match the bridal shower invitations to the colors of the wedding. You want the bride to be happy with the invitations so make sure you get her input before making the final selections.

You should not wait until the last minute to select bridal shower invitations. You will need to allow time for them to be printed and shipped. You will also have to address them and send them out in time for guests to respond. Make sure that all of the information they need is either included on the invitation or there is contact information so they can call to R.S.V.P or ask questions.

When you were asked to plan the bridal shower you were given a big responsibility. This is the time that the bride’s female family and friends get together and wish her well in her new life. It is also time to celebrate the impending nuptials. This is the time for the bride to spend time with her family and friends and this gathering can set the tone for the rest of wedding events. The right bridal shower invitations are just as important as any other aspect of the bridal shower plans. You should invest time and thought into them so that the bride will really cherish your choice.
