Graduation parties are exciting and are all about celebrating a big part of a young person's life…usually it is

a son or daughter who has closed a chapter in their life and is starting a new exciting one. If you plan a little ahead now the day of your party should be very easy.

Almost all of the items required for an entertaining graduation party can be acquired at a party store and/or a corner shop, or you can take a little additional time to make things by hand for a rather more intimate and unique feel. If you do not let yourself get too overworked, you can create an exciting and flamboyant party when you plan ahead of time. Using pictures of the graduate strategically placed throughout your home or feast hall allows the person to feel special and honored. You can even have a cake with their image screen written on top! Try printing out photos of your graduate and hanging them above your break table or prepare them on a poster board. You could also make a poster for folk to sign and send fun messages to your grad!

Add a personal touch by having a pile of contact cards available to your visitors as they walk in. These cards can be the size of a business card and simply has your child or daughter’s contact info on it. This would be the case if they were going away to school. Next to the contact cards you might place a personalized graduation candy bar that has a picture of your daughter or son on it. This is a pleasant way of thanking your guest for helping you celebrate their special day.

For hors d’ oeuvres be absolutely certain to offer lots of options. Most graduation parties are open-house style, so providing food that isn’t extremely perishable and that deals with plenty of different palates will serve you well. Stuff like fruits and veggies, crackers with meats and cheeses, or maybe build up your own sandwiches are inexpensive and can be decorated in a complicated matter or an off-the-cuff one. You don't want to spend the party re-filling the food tray or dashing around in the kitchen. It could be a smart idea to keep the trays of food already on a plate and stored in the ice box for easy replenishment.

Always be certain to get a head count as well even if it is simply a coarse guess. This can eliminate last minute trips to the store. If you choose to make a trip to the party store, be sure to grab balloons, expendable plates and plasticware. This implies less work for you. You can find all sorts of decor at the party store like graduation hats, picture frames, custom graduation candy, banners, streamers, and signs.

There are things that you may not find at a party store. These stores have a limited supply of personalized graduation party favors. If you're brooding about personalized candy bar wrappers, mint tins, candy jars, mini glass bottles, cupcake favor boxes, or lollipops you might need to think about searching online for a number of these items. There are net stores that have quanitity reductions available and some even offer free shipping. So long as you remember your graduate and enjoy the company of those close to you, you're bound to have a noteworthy time.
