Summertime AC Unit Tactics

By Jeffrey Jackson

Summertime is very hot in Utah. The air is dry and the heat seems to emanate from everywhere. During the hot summer month, it is important to keep your Utah air conditioning system working properly.

Utah air conditioning units will only work, however, if you use them the right way. You need to be sure to take proper care of them to keep them in good, working order. There are a few different ways you can keep your system working right during the summer time.

To start, be sure that your filters are clean. Clean them on a regular basis to make sure that your system is in top shape. Filters should be cleaned every month.

Filters are constantly building up dirt and grime. The more dirty the filters are, the less efficient the Utah air conditioning unit is going to be. Dirty filters make your AC unit work hard because of the amount of pressure there is building up.

Dirty filters can become clogged and block the air that needs to go through it. This means that your system has to push it harder to get that air circulating. This not only uses more energy, but can quickly wear down your system.

Be sure to change the filters every month to prevent this from happening. Changing filters will help your AC unit continue to operate correctly and save you from having to repair it. It never hurts to save money on your electricity bill as well.

You can also use other methods to cool you off in conjunction with your air conditioning unit. House fans, ceiling fans, and portable fans can all help keep the air in your home cooler. Fans will circulate the cool air and distribute it even nicer. Since heat rises, having your ceiling fan turned on while the AC unit is on will push the hot air out of the way and keep the cooler air circulating.

Another good way to keep your AC unit from using unnecesary energy is to keep your doors and windows closed while it is going. Cool air will escape the home and make your AC unit have to work harder to get it cool again.

It’s important to have a trustworthy plumber to take care of your plumbing needs and air conditioning, and heating
