With the unique and intricate locking mechanisms of the pin tumbler lock, it is more difficult for thieve s to pick the lock. When shopping for tumbler security padlock, choose one with at least five pins and those that are made of hardened solid steel or those that are made of steel alloys. While the brass type padlocks are known to be more resistant to rust as compared to steel, it is also more prone to damage.

Combination Lock – As the made suggests, a combination lock is designed with a dial where the user will need to dial combination to open the lock. These are usually made of solid steel alloys that provide considerable protection.

Tubular cylinder padlock is the type of lock that is usually used to secure expensive motorcycles and bikes, as well as used in electronic security systems. If you take a cylindrical form, the pins are arranged in a circular formation and are exposed, and the key is cylindrical as well.
