Babysitting Games – Keep The Kids Entertained

By Laura Michaels

Knowing some babysitting games is a must for any babysitter. Taking care of kids is hard work, especially if they are not your own.

There are some few simplistic games every child knows that can be fun for both the babysitter and the children they are watching, and they do not even require any special toys.

Coming up with babysitting games on your own can be a little difficult, which is why these old standards are great way to go about it. Not only are they simple, but they are loads of fun for children, teenagers, and adults alike. Some games are classic for children and have lasted through the generations. These types of games are the kinds that any babysitter can play with the children that they are watching have lots of fun doing it.

One old standard is hide and seek. Children have been playing this game for what seems like centuries, and they are not about to stop. This can be a good game for the babysitter to get into because they too can hide, and they too can seek. The children will have loads of fun trying to find the babysitter, especially because the babysitter is likely larger than they are; and they will love hiding from them.

Another game that is fun for babysitter’s to play with the children is Red Light-Green Light. No child will be able to say no to playing Red Light-Green Light, and almost no babysitter be able to say no to playing it with them. Though this is a game many adults forget, children play it often enough to be masters at it. This is definitely one of the more simplistic babysitting games, but can also be one of the most fun.

While not actually a game, coloring with the children can also be a great way to not only get them calm down, but also to bond with them. Coloring is really something that brings out their creative sides and they love to show off the pictures that they have finished.

Having the baby sitter join in on the coloring is a great way to bond and gain trust between both the child being babysat and the babysitter. This is especially true if, once they finish, they both compare their pictures.

There are a lot of babysitting games that you can play with the child you are watching that will provide hours of amusement.
